1Note: The actual contactless limit varies from country to country. The standard European Maestro PayPass™ transaction ceiling limit for countries in which the Euro is the official currency is €25. European countries where the Euro is not the official currency will have the Maestro PayPass™ transaction ceiling limit expressed in their own local currency which may, in some cases, convert to more or less than €25 (in the UK, the current limit is £15). Additionally, in some countries in Europe (Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, the Russian Federation, Slovakia and Turkey) Maestro PayPass™ transactions are permitted above the listed transaction ceiling limit provided the cardholder enters their PIN for online verification.
2Note: These steps apply unless the transaction is for more than the country Maestro PayPass™ transaction limit, or if the transaction is conducted with a card issued in one of the countries listed above where a Maestro PayPass™ transaction may take place above the listed limit provided the cardholder enters their PIN for online verification. Also, to ensure cardholders security, after a random number of uses you may be asked to enter your PIN to verify that you are the authorized cardholder.
